GPStrax/SITEtrax
The GPStrax system, developed by ILI Technologies (2002) Corp. (ILI) consists of five separate hardware and software components which give the end user the ability to view maps, produce reports as well as monitor vehicle and personnel movements customized to their specific needs.
The five components that are available with the complete ILI GPStrax system include the GPStrax hardware and GPS-comm operating software as well as the optional MAPtrax, RTGPStrax and SITEtrax software packages.
The GPStrax hardware module contains a 12-channel GPS board, a propriety microprocessor based control module, a communication board and antenna. The control module, which utilizes GPS-comm operating software, receives the vehicle position every second from the GPS board and records this position at a configurable time into its internal memory. An optional external digital display module is available which displays current time, vehicle longitude and latitude as well as vehicle speed. When the vehicle returns to the base, the control module will transfer the saved readings from memory using the internal radio system to the base station connected to the Windows based GPS-comm operating software.
The base station consists of a radio system connected to a Windows based PC. ILI Technologies provides custom software that communicates with the system in each truck and will receive the GPS position reports from the vehicle-mounted controller. The SITEtrax and/or MAPtrax software will then convert the GPS data to a file format required to produce the required daily activity reports or to
produce and display operator specific mapping reports.
